SCOPE FOR INDUSTRIES DEVELOPMENT

                   Manufacturing activities largely depends upon the availability of material / minerals resources. District Karauli is rich in minerals i.e. china clay, white clay, sand stone, messonary stone, lime stone,bajari and  grit stone. There are good deposits of silica sand and soap stone in Karauli and Hindaun tehsils. Sand stone  found in Karauli and Hindaun tehsil is red in colour. therefore the industries based on these raw materials  having products like moorti( statue ), gate, grills and windows can develop in the district. the red sand stone  are carried out and used in construction of marvelous buildings in different parts on India and Asia.

                    The Area under forest in the district is 165 hect which constitutes 33% of the total area of the district. Dhok, Babul, Neem, Pipli and Sisam are the major trees in the district. The forest based industries like cooking  wood, charcoal, tendu leaves, gum, hunney, perfume and kattha can also be develop in the district.

                    The main livestock of the district are cattles, buffaloes, goats, sheeps, camel, pigs and horses. The availability of leather in the district are in hug quantity and the industries based on leather can develop and run successfully in the district.

                     Karauli district not only attract the foreign tourists but also local and home people in the MELAS celeberated in the district. Some of them are national fame like Shree Mahavir ji and Kela divi Mela.

                    There is good demand of the products manufactured by the rural artisons in these melas. There is good demand of camel carts, bullock carts, mini truck and tractors due to heavy crops in the district. The purchasing capacity of rural villagers is rised due to grow of good crop. Therefore, the business/services like TV repairing, Radio Repairing, cable TV, Beauty parlur pethological Laboratory, Tent house, truck-tractor repair can estiblish in rural areas.

                    Keeping in view the strength and constraints of the district and discussions held with officers of the Govt. departments, local industrialists during the field survey the following industries have been suggested for development in District Karauli.
